At this cultural celebration with live music and dance, our robotics demo supported the Ronald McDonald House, a charity that provides a “home away from home” for families with seriously ill children receiving care at nearby hospitals. 💡 RoboFacts: Behind the Scenes with Judge Interviews
Judge interviews are a vital part of robotics competitions, giving students the opportunity to showcase their skills beyond the playing field. Teams meet with judges to discuss their engineering process, design choices, programming strategies, and community outreach. Judges ask questions that challenge students to explain their problem-solving approach, reflect on lessons learned, and demonstrate how they collaborate as a team.
These interviews blend technical concepts with storytelling, critical thinking, and professionalism. A strong interview can help teams earn prestigious awards like the Inspire Award, Design Award, or Excellence Award—which can advance teams toward state and world championship qualification.
For students, preparing for judge interviews develops essential future-ready skills: clear communication, confidence under pressure, and the ability to translate technical knowledge into real-world applications. FTC 2025 Challenge: DECODE |

The 2025-2026 FIRST Tech Challenge season has officially kicked off with an exciting new game: DECODE, presented by RTX. Part of the FIRST AGE season inspired by archaeology, DECODE invites teams to investigate the power of the world's artifacts and unlock mysteries using STEM skills and teamwork. Every artifact holds a story—each tool, innovation, and work of art connects us to the people and ideas that came before us.
We're proud to have FTC Team 23212, based out of Robolabs San Jose, competing this season with a full roster of 10+ talented students. Our team is diving into the challenge with enthusiasm, creativity, and determination. It's going to be an exciting season ahead as they design, build, and program their robot to tackle this year's archaeological adventure. |
